Hello everyone!
Woohoo...I'm so happy
to find this forum...I had no idea you guys were out here!! LOL It's just like that feeling we had when we were kids and found out there were other people in the world just like us! For some reason it never occured to me that there are other fat gays and lesbians out there having WLS and trying to deal with the same issues as me. Well, it's nice to find a home again
...lol. Anyway...I'm five weeks out of RNY and down 36 lbs....my goal is to lose 130 lbs, only 95 to go and I'm excited. If you get a chance check out my profile...I'd love to chat with others and see how things are going.

Welcome to the GLBT board! We are a great group of supportive people! I had a lapband about 14 months ago. I have lost 80 lbs and now it's very slow but I am still happy with how much more energy I have!
My partner and I are Olivia travelers. Have you taken a trip yet? They are fabulous!

Five weeks....36 pounds....that is awesome! I had lap band surgery in May and am down about 45 pounds. Congratulations!
I would love to stay in touch and check in on each other to see how it is going. I have been battling the same five pounds for about two months, but I still have about 30 pounds I want to lose. I am going to start exercising more regularly...you know, the New Years Resolution thing...LOL! But I do know that I have to get after it again...I was doing okay until school started and I was always able to come up with an excuse. I am a high school assistant principal and athletic director...so I am busy, but that is no excuse
!!
I "hang out" more in the lap band forum....I really don't know how much different RNY is to lapband?
I enjoyed your profile...I need to update mine!

Hey all. I too just found this board. I had my surgery on April 1 and still want to lose another 30-40 pounds. I workout about 9-10 hours a week and eat high protien low carb and am still struggling to get the weight off.
I have been with my partner almost 24 years and we have 4 beautiful children. 1 via artificial insem and 3 adopted, they are 11,5,3 and almost 2. We own a restaurant. I am the chef, she runs the front!!
